Think of the web portal as a twitter or IM. You can send short messages that we will respond to rather quickly, hopefully when working well, almost in real time, rather than waiting for a call back. Check it out. Try a test message. See what you think.
Why not use Twitter itself for those patients' parents who use the service anyway? I'd love to be able to get quick questions answered via 'd drraley' on Twitter.

As usual, Dr. Raley, you are going above and beyond to provide your patients and their parents with top-notch service. You set the bar so high for other Drs. Thanks for always being available for quick, fast, and convenient communication. I cannot express to you enough how thankful I am for having you as my kids' pediatrician. Especially now.
