Fuji on Brookside and Sunset Grill

On Saturday night we went to dinner with some friends at Fuji on Brookside.  The sushi choices there are overwhelming. Fortunately our friends had been their several times and ordered away.  We did order a roll that looked like an ice cream cone and it was really good.  But I can not remember the name of the roll.  I am still trying to decide which sushi place I like best, there are certain rolls that I have liked better at each one we have gone too.  So I guess we will have to keep going to them all.  Sorry Dr Raley forgot to take any pics of the rolls this time.

After dinner, we went to the Sunset Grill which has moved to the old Cardigans space on Lewis.  One of our friends Dad plays in a band and they were performing their on Sat night.  It was really fun.  I heard on Sunday that Parents of my friend but us all to shame staying out past 2:30, we of course were home early around 11:00.  The whole baby waking up around 6:30/7:00am puts a huge damper on a late night.

Sunday night we had Mario's Pizza.  Which I think is one of the best in Tulsa.  I love the new style pizza and calzones.  If you have not tried it, you must.

Weekend in Review

Well tonight is the final episode of the Soprano's. I cannot believe it. I have watched this show pretty consistently for the past 8 years.

Last night we went to Ciao on Peoria. Food was good as usual-service was not. I had a Samuel Smith India Ale-this is a great IPA (India Pale Ale). I like Sierra Nevada best for Pale Ales and Samuel Smith the best for the IPA's.

I "won" the first three things that I bid for on Ebay. I guess winning is right-if you really want the item-you will always "win". I bought two golf clubs-I finally bought one of those oversized drivers (Nike Sasquatch)-and a gift for my dad for father's day-I would tell you but he actually may read the blog.

I have still been watching Band of Brothers from Cox on Demand. What a great series. If you get a chance-you should see it.

I may be available late on Sunday afternoon for appts-send me an email you need me. Also you can email me for Monday morning appts-try to have those emails to me by 7:30 am on Monday.

Weekend in Review

Seems a little cold for the end of May.  Went to Dallas w/out kids.  Ate at some of our favorites from when I was in residency there.  If you know something about Dallas-here they are:  Dodies-oyster PoBoys, Dickies-BBQ, MiCocino and Gloria's-mexican, Lucky's for breakfast.  You know the non-chain places that most of us really like.

Saw a couple of movies.  Waitress and Once.  Waitress is a nice movie.  Easy to watch, funny, enjoyable.  Once is a simple movie about a guy and girl. It is kind of a musical-but not really.   This is an incredible movie.    If you like music-this is for you.  If it comes to Tulsa you will need to check it out.

Just finished a really good book-The Emperor's Children.  Downloaded the new Wilco album-pretty good.

Expect that I will be busy in the office this week.  Still seeing alot of high fevers and some diarrhea.  Most of this should slow down when school is out.

Have a good week.

Weekend in Review

Pretty good weekend, would like to say things are slowing down in the office but that is not true.  Still seeing alot of allergy and asthma issues, also continuing to see high fevers up to 103-104 lasting  3-4 days-often associated with a rash-that is usually roseola.  Contagious prior to rash-not after the rash appears b/c the fever then is most likely gone.

Last night Tori and I took our friend Dave to Flemings.  Dave is a fraternity brother  (Lambda Chi)of mine from OU who is an architect.  He designed the house for the lot that we decided not to build on.  So if you want to take at look at some house plans with a walk-out basement let me know.  Anyway, Flemings is a really good steak place.  It is expensive so you may want to save it for special event.  (ie:  like telling your friend that your are not going to build his house that he spent alot of time designing).  The steaks at Does maybe a little better, but the atmosphere  and service at Flemings is incredible.  Great onion rings!  Tons of wine-but I stuck with a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale.

Tonight I am cooking out baby back ribs.  My favorite.  The recipe is a dry rub (Memphis style I am told) instead of sauce.    I first had dry ribs in Dallas at Red, Hot and Blues.  My rub is made of brown sugar, salt, pepper, cumin, garlic powder, and some cayenne pepper.  If you like ribs-these are great.  We got the ribs from Siegis at 91st Sheridan.  This is a nice little German deli and meat market on the NW corner of the intersection behind Under the Sun.

Have a good week and remember this Thursday I will begin to be out of the office in the afternoon.

Send me some pictures-hoped you enjoyed the Glass Blowing pics.  It is a fun place.
